The Technological University of the Philippines – Cavite Campus held the First Hard Hatting and Pinning Ceremony on April 22, 2026, at the TUP Auditorium. The event was attended by campus officials, faculty members, industry partners, and engineering students, marking a new chapter in the students' academic journey.
Spearheaded by the Department of Engineering, the ceremony is a rite marking the transition from classroom learning to practical on-the-job training (OJT) or professional work. It symbolizes commitment, responsibility, safety, and readiness for field engineering.
A total of 100 third-year students scheduled for on-the-job training in mid-2026, along with graduating engineering students in Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical fields, donned their hard hats and pinned their badges at the event's conclusion. This momentous occasion marks the beginning of a new, challenging journey for these future engineers.
"The ceremony is a rite marking the transition from classroom learning to practical on-the-job training... symbolizing commitment, responsibility, safety, and readiness for field engineering."
Fostering Partnership through Engineering Council Convention
After the hard-hatting and pinning ceremony, the Engineering Advisory Council Convention took place in the Audiovisual Room. It gathered academia and industry experts to discuss current trends, skill requirements, and technological innovations.
The primary goal of the convention was to align the campus engineering curriculum with industry standards and ensure students nearing graduation acquire relevant, future-ready skills required by the modern workforce. The event offered valuable industry insights to the Department, supporting ongoing improvements in teaching, lab facilities, and student programs.
